Happy Wednesday
So Parker's Demon is literally consuming me in the best way possible. The words are flowing, and I hope to goodness that it doesn't stop. The burnout fear is seriously real, and I don't want to go through it again. But like I say, I'm happy the words are coming, and I'm happy to share snippets of it. Although this is the fourth book in the Pryde Shifter series, the world is continually expanding. This is not a lot, but I hope you like it.
Parker took a long drag of his cigarette, letting the smoke fill his lungs before slowly blowing it out. He leaned a shoulder against the windowsill, staring at the two moons, one grey and the other white, and the star-filled sky beyond them, trying to keep his emotions in check.
He and Laxus had arrived in the Nyxian realm, or as the people like to refer to it, the realm, three months ago under the cover of darkness, traveling through the portal they had found on Black Rain Isle. It was keyed to the Nyxian realm. They figured it was what Akira and his cohorts were using to travel between the Nyxian and the Earth realm.
Parker and Laxus knew they were taking a chance by using the same portal and could be caught. But I was surprised when they landed four days' travel from the Castle located in the realm's central city. It was the first time Parker had traveled to another realm, and he had to admit that, for as evil as Bergstrand was, the realm was nothing like he had imagined. Beautiful snowcapped mountains, a colorful bustling city with thriving commerce, and people who seemed happy for the most part. The realm was ancient yet sophisticated in both its look and feel, with the sparkling castle perched atop the highest peak and the sprawling homes fanning out across the lands below, belonging to those who could afford them or had pleased the king enough to be rewarded with space to build their own.
Until next time
Gia
