Chapter Seven - nyaft
Riley hurried out of the trailer and got into his car, turning it on and peeling away like a bat out of hell. He tried his best not to touch his tingling lips but couldn't help it. That kiss rocked his world in more ways than one, but he recalled the regretful expression in his eyes after they had separated, and that had pissed him off and caused him to lash out.
Unable to concentrate, Riley pulled to the side of the word and simply sat there. He wasn't sure why his life got so complicated in the past twenty-four hours. Tears pooled in his eyes, but he dashed it away, refusing to become dehydrated and lose his shit. Sighing, he leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes, contemplating his next move. Leaving his trailer might not have been wise, but he had to get away from Terry for a bit before they got into another argument.
He looked at his phone when it vibrated in his pocket. Pulling it out, he saw Morgan's name on the screen. He debated whether he should answer it or not but ignored his call like he had done all the others. He needed to get away from all this for a while and get his mind right. Once his phone stopped vibrating, he waited a few seconds after getting the notification that he had a voicemail. He unlocked his phone, looked through his address book, and brought up his cousin's number. His finger hovered over his cousin's name for a few minutes before he went ahead and made the call.
“This is a surprise,” Tate Ellison said. “What's going on, little cuz?”
“I'm not so little, you know that right,” Riley told him, trying to keep the sadness out of his voice.
“What's wrong?” Tate said quickly, picking up on the inflection in his tone.
“Why would you think something is wrong?”
“Don't try to hide anything from me, and I can tell when something is bothering you or Kymani.”
Riley groaned. “I was thinking of visiting you for a few days.”
Chapter Six - nyaft
“I didn't fucking run away!” Terry harshly threw his fork down, but Riley didn't flinch at his anger. He might have said the words, but deep down, he knew Riley was right.
Fuck! Terry was trying hard to get Riley to get over his anger with him so that they could live peacefully, but he was getting sick and tired of his damn attitude. He knew he fucked up five years ago, but he could not take back his mistakes, only make up for them.
“Look, I'm sorry.”
“Do you even know what you're apologizing for?” Riley sneered.
“I'm trying here! Can't you even give me a chance?” His voice cracked with emotion, hoping Riley would see that he was being genuine.
“A chance,” Riley scoffed. “You are asking for a hell of a lot. Don’t you think?”
Riley stood and walked over to the sink, staring out the window. Terry did not want to acknowledge the way he had treated Riley five years ago. To him, it was all in the past, but he also never asked fate to send him a mate. Terry had been happy with his damn life before he scented Riley, and now he could stop thinking about the omega. He didn't deny that showing up at Riley's place was a mistake, but he had no other choice.
Chapter One - cbd
Months After The Blizzard
"I'm the best they have. No one can sell as much as I can..."
Why the fuck did I do this to myself? Am I too desperate to find a lover?
Chase sat across from his date, trying to remember the guy's name. When they met at the cafe, the man seemed dominant and had the look he was looking for. Tall, muscular, and handsome, but who knew he was so damn talkative? He had ignored the glaring problem imprinted on the guy's forehead.
The Pirate & His Omega Thief
Finding a mate was never in their plans—but fate keeps bringing them together.
Ashlyn Tuesday is a thief, moving from town to town, robbing rich men of their gold—and their hearts. Each time he gets into trouble, one man seems to come to Ashlyn’s rescue. Until one day he has to decide to stay in the clutches of a man who wants to keep him in a cage or another who wants him to be free on the open seas.
Since the day he took up piracy, Captain Dagger Crowe's only love has been the sea. He’s roguishly handsome and has never had trouble finding a bedmate. Sharing stolen kisses with Ashlyn, Dagger realizes he wants not only Booker Thorin’s treasure, he also wants to be more than the omega thief’s savior. He wants to steal Ashlyn’s heart and make the man his own.
Will his mistress, the sea, be kind to him and give him what he desires, or will her jealousy be his ruin?
Prologue Part 3 - cbd
Snow fell heavily, blanketing everything in Valleywood white. The orshaial city hadn't seen a storm this bad for over a century. It was so thick and blinding that the city government declared that all residents must remain indoors. The storm raged, and the skies grew darker, with thunder and lightning clashing as the heavens seemed to split, opening up the floodgates of gods knew what.
In a warm, comfortable penthouse overlooking Valleywood, a figure lay between naked bodies after a night of debauchery gasped, waking up. Looking around his bedroom, Loki rubbed his chest, groaning, feeling a burning that caused him to break out in sweat.
Chapter Five
“Are you alright?” Creed asked Riley the following morning.
No, he wasn't fucking okay. He was confused and frustrated by two alphas who felt they could invade his life and make him feel like shit. But he couldn't tell his friend that because, even though Creed was a cool guy, he was an alpha, just like Terry and Morgan. Granted, when they were together, he hadn't felt the need or want for Creed to claim him, but could he have been using his pheromones like Morgan and dulling Riley's senses? He looked at Creed seriously for the first time in a very long time and knew that his friend wouldn't do something so deceitful despite everything. But he still couldn't tell Creed what was bugging him.
“Yeah, I'm good. Just a bit tired.”
“Man, I told you not to go out last night,” Creed grumbled.
“I only went out to dinner.” Which I never got to eat.
Chapter Twenty
“Valin Masterson Reid, get your naked butt back here,” Marcus yelled, running after his slippery son, who had a love-hate relationship when it came to taking baths, and it seemed like today was one of those days he detested water.
“Now, sweet pea, listen to your daddy and go take your bath,” Marcus heard his mother gently coaxing his son.
“No, Nana, not dirty,” the tiny voice whined.
Elemental Love - Chapter Eleven - Rune
Rune showed up at Club Element and was stopped by the guard before he could even open the door. He was not expecting to encounter any difficulties since it was in the middle of the day.
“We're closed for a private event; come back later,” the guard standing in front of the closed club told him.
“I need to speak to your boss,” Rune said, ignoring the man's words.
“I don't care who you want to speak to,” the guard snapped, pushing Rune away from him.
Rune growled and grabbed the man's hand, ready to twist and break it at the wrist, but stopped when he heard a commanding voice behind him.
“What the fuck is going on here?”
Chapter Four
Morgan stared at Riley, knowing that his news would shock him; it did the same to him. At first, he had ignored the signs because, as a dominant alpha, he had a pick of whoever he wanted for his mate or, in his case, mates. From childhood, Morgan was a strong alpha and knew that he would have more than one mate, but he wasn't ready to be tied down to anyone. Morgan remembered the first time he met Riley at the conference. In a sea of omegas and alpha's, one scent called to him, and when he found it was coming from Riley, he had to get to know the man.
He had to admit Riley was not the type of omega he'd go for. He preferred the slim frame, narrow shoulders and hips, long limbs, soft eyes, and more boyish features. Morgan loved picking up his lovers and fucking them in all kind f positions. Riley was nothing like that. He had hard muscles, a well-manicured beard, and was a couple of inches shorter than him. Yet, none of those physical features had ever hindered their time together. But what drew Morgan's attention was the man's chocolate brown eyes. They told Morgan more than Riley's mouth would say.
Elemental Love - Chapter Ten - Keahi
“As wonderful as this lunch was, I can’t help but wonder why you wanted to meet with me,” Spencer asked.
Instead of answering Spencer, Keahi brought up the screen with a picture of Douglas Croft. He also wasn’t worried about showing or talking about something so sensitive. They were in a private room, and anything they discussed could not be heard.
“Who’s this?” Spencer said, leaning forward to study the face on the screen.
Keahi studied the other man’s face, watching for a reaction, and was disappointed when he showed no recognition, but he still had to go through with his questions. “Are you saying that you don’t know who this man is?”
Spencer shook his head and leaned back in his seat. “I’ve never seen this guy before in all my life.”
Elemental Love - Chapter Nine - Rune
Rune brought up the screen, sifting through the information they’d been able to uncover since arriving back at the police station. Douglas Craft had led a very colorful life. Rune would have called it a coincidence that he was trying to find the killer of the guy who harassed him some nights ago. Craft had been in and out of juvenile detention centers for petty crimes from a young age until he got older and things got more serious. He went to jail at sixteen for accessory to murder, but he was released early after they found out he wasn't at the crime scene. But that was the only incident in his life where he was innocent. Two years later, he would be arrested for kidnapping and larceny and was locked up for six years. When Craft got out, he stayed out of trouble, or so people thought, since he ended up dead. He was working for a construction company that coincidentally was building a new Elemental club owned by Keahi Covington.
Chapter Three
Riley pulled up to the Rain Tower hotel and restaurant, got out, handed the valet, took his ticket, and thanked the doorman who had opened the door for him. Riley hadn't planned ongoing out for the night, but he couldn't spend another minute in Terry's presence before he either punched or kissed the man. Fate was a fucking bitch because it was the only way he could explain why he was so fucking attracted to a man that had rejected him without getting to know him.
“I'm meeting Morgan Russo,” he said to the host.
“Yes, he's been waiting for you. Follow me.”
Morgan was a dominant alpha that Riley met about six months ago at a Generation Business Leaders conference where they took one look at each other and wasted no time jumping into bed and have been fuck buddies ever since. Dominant alphas were rare and, in some cases, could be mated to another alpha. While Riley had been in the shower, he'd gotten a text from Morgan telling him he was in town and asking them to meet up. Riley readily agreed since Terry did not want to be around his uninvited house guest. The one thing Riley liked about Morgan was that he wasn't putting any pressure on Riley for anything else.
Elemental Love - Chapter Eight - Rune
The officer hadn’t spoken and was simply staring at him. Rune huffed, rolling his eyes, then looked down at the officer’s name tag.
“Officer Smith,” Rune called out the man’s name, adding some force to his tone. “Where is your captain?”
“I’m right behind you,” a gruff and sultry voice said in his ear.
“Captain, sir,” Officer Smith stuttered, coming out of his daze. “Mister Kristoph is here.”
“No, really?” Captain Kwon Jackson said sarcastically, making poor Smith blush in embarrassment. “Go do something with yourself, and for god’s sake, stay out of trouble. Rune, come with me.”
Kwon Jackson walked away, and Rune looked back at the officer, who seemed hurt by the captain’s dismissal, but he shouldn’t have. Kwon might seem gruff on the outside, but the big man was a teddy bear on the inside. Plus, he was serious when it came to work.
Chapter Nineteen
Before meeting with Charity, Victor had been ready to sign on the dotted line. But because of Charity’s words and what he’d learned about Marcus Sr., Victor decided not to hold back and made significant moves and plans that even surprised him. He did not sign the divorce papers; however, to make sure no one found out, he had his lawyers “force” Marcus Sr. to sign a non-disclosure agreement. He knew that once Victor Sr. found out that Marcus was married, he would blab it to the press and would cause nonsensical havoc in his son’s life, even if he didn’t know where Marcus went.
Chapter Two
Terry groaned as he sat up, hoping the pain in his side had eased up while he had been napping. He had gotten injured on his last undercover operation. He was trying to take down the Korinthian family. He had been working that case for four and a half years to take down the Korinthian family, and he had to make a quick getaway since someone had blown his cover. But in the process of escaping, he'd gotten shot in the leg and spent the past couple of weeks in hiding. Terry wasn't sure who ratted him out, but he had to lay low for a bit until he found out.
Truthfully, he understood Riley's anger. The last couple of times they saw each other, Terry refused to be in the same room with the handsome omega. But Terry had his reasons, the same ones he had even now. He didn't believe in the fairy tale thing called love. That was for his friend Winter, who had found his mate who had two point five kids.
Chapter Seven
“For fuck’s sake, Des, just ask my brother out already. I can’t understand what the hell is holding you back.”
“And as I told you, once Pierce recognizes our connection, I’ll take things to the next level,” Destin said.
“You realize Pierce will continue to be bratty and play you until you put your foot down. He’s already recognized your connection.” Keahi tilted his head and stared at his best friend. “Or could it be that you’re the one that’s scared to take things further?”
Prologue Part 1
502,024 AD
On board the Emberion, or the Flame, as it was affectionately called by its crew, a figure dressed in black from head to toe moved stealthily through the halls. His back pressed against the wall, feeling the ancient runes gliding over his clothed skin, praying to all the ancestors he didn't get caught before the job was done.
