Chapter Three

Riley pulled up to the Rain Tower hotel and restaurant, got out, handed the valet, took his ticket, and thanked the doorman who had opened the door for him. Riley hadn't planned ongoing out for the night, but he couldn't spend another minute in Terry's presence before he either punched or kissed the man. Fate was a fucking bitch because it was the only way he could explain why he was so fucking attracted to a man that had rejected him without getting to know him.

“I'm meeting Morgan Russo,” he said to the host.

“Yes, he's been waiting for you. Follow me.”

Morgan was a dominant alpha that Riley met about six months ago at a Generation Business Leaders conference where they took one look at each other and wasted no time jumping into bed and have been fuck buddies ever since. Dominant alphas were rare and, in some cases, could be mated to another alpha. While Riley had been in the shower, he'd gotten a text from Morgan telling him he was in town and asking them to meet up. Riley readily agreed since Terry did not want to be around his uninvited house guest. The one thing Riley liked about Morgan was that he wasn't putting any pressure on Riley for anything else.

The hostess led him to a private room, and he smiled when he saw Morgan sitting studiously waiting for him. He stood the second he saw Riley, who smiled at the handsome man. Morgan met him at the door and pulled him in his arms, capturing his mouth in a heated kiss before Riley could utter a word. Morgan cupped the back of his head with one hand and gripped his waist with the other.

Riley moaned in their kiss as his fingers grasped the man's jacket, keeping their mouth locked together. Riley didn't know if Morgan felt his need to be wanted after being in Terry's presence for just over an hour, but his touch and kiss were easing the hurt to his ego. Slowly, their lips separated, and Riley blinked his eyes open to see Morgan smirking and looking down at him. His sea-green eyes glazed with arousal.

“From that kiss, I take it you were happy to see me,” Riley said.

“I'm always happy to see you, baby,” the other man said and stepped back, leading Riley over to the table.

“I bet you say that to all your other bed partners,” Riley chuckled, making the man wink.

Morgan was taller than Riley, standing at about six-foot-four and fucking built like a mack truck and looked so fucking good. It was hard for Riley to keep his eyes off the man.

“I ordered you an old fashion?” Morgan said when they sat down.

“Thank you.” He picked up his drink, taking a couple of sips before looking at Morgan, who was staring at him.

“How have you been?”

Riley shrugged, setting his glass down. “Busy. How about you? What are you doing in town?”

“Can't I just want to see you?” Morgan said, quirking a brow.

Riley snorted and shook his head. “We're not that kind of couple, Morgan. You come to town on business. We fuck if we can fit each other in our schedules, then you bounce and move on to your next bed partner.”

Morgan hissed. “Damn, that sounds a bit harsh. And what makes you think I'm with other people? What if you're the only one I'm interested in?”

“Don't try to play me, Morgan.” Riley chuckled. “Because I know for certain you're not the lonely type, my friend.”

“And you're telling me that you are celibate until I come to town?”

“I'm not the lonely type either.” Riley picked up his glass, bringing it to his lips, hiding his smile. He wouldn't give Morgan the satisfaction in knowing that he hadn't been with anyone else before or after they'd met. He refused to let the man's head swell by telling him that he'd broken Riley's curse of being rejected by his mate.

“As long as they aren't better than me. I don't care who you fuck when I'm not around.”

Riley might have been wrong, but he might have heard a bit of jealousy in Morgan's tone. Riley went to speak but held back when the curtain was drawn, and the server entered with a cheese, meat, and bread charcuterie and setting it down in the center of the table. The server left as quietly as she came.

“I took the liberty of ordering something light for the evening. I hope you don't mind?”

“Do I ever,” Riley said, leaning closer to Morgan and caressing the inside of his leg. “But you didn't have to go through all of this. I could have met you in your room.”

Morgan grabbed Riley's shirt and pulled him off his chair, and he straddled the other man's lap. Most people would think that he would be uncomfortable due to his height and build if they saw him sitting on another man's lap. But he was far from bothered. He was a man with desires just like anyone else.

“Maybe I wanted to treat you to dinner before I fuck you into the mattress.”

Riley's arms circled Morgan's neck and, without saying a word, took Morgan's mouth in a heated kiss. Morgan trailed kisses, stopping at Riley's neck and sucking up a mark before moving down to his chest. Riley was so caught up in what he was feeling he hadn't realized the alpha had unbuttoned his shirt until he felt his warm, wet tongue and hot mouth on his nipple.

“Morgan,” he said with a moan. “We shouldn't do this here.”

Although he said the words, he couldn't stop his hand from cupping the back of Morgan's head, keeping him in place.

“You shouldn't have tempted me,” Morgan raised his head, capturing his mouth once more.

Riley wasn't sure how long they had kissed, but he found that he couldn't get enough of the man for some reason that night. He had been starving when he walked into the restaurant, but now he wanted to be fed something else.

He separated their mouths in the need to breathe. “We should go,” Riley panted.

Morgan opened his eyes, and the hunger he saw staring back at him shook Riley to his core. He openly stared at Riley's lips as his hands roamed over his body. There was an electric current in the air, and he feared if they fucked he would beg the man to knot and mate him. Riley got off Morgan's legs and fixed his shirt at that train of thought. They stared at each other, panting, and they both noticed their erection seeming to want to break out of their pants.

Fuck, I need to calm down. What the hell was I thinking? He's not my mate? How did things escalate so quickly?

They've fucked so many times he had never thought of Morgan mating him. Riley couldn't help if he were feeling riled up because of his encounter with Terry. This has to be his fault.

“Hey, are you okay?” Morgan asked. Riley heard the concern in his voice, but the hypnotic look in his eyes as he stared at Riley's cock that scared him. The desire and need to make him want to run.

“Yeah, I just needed to breathe.”

Morgan slowly raised his head, and their eyes met. Not taking his eyes off Riley, he stood before him, cupping his cheek as the most alluring and dominating scent reached his nose. Riley walked back, and he gasped when his back hit the sturdy wall, and he found that he couldn't move and didn't think that he wanted to.

Describe Morgan's scent. This was the first time the alpha had used his pheromones on him, and it was so fucking intoxicating Riley wanted to roll around and be covered from head to toe.

“Don't you think it's time we stop playing games, Riley?” Morgan asked in a husky, enticing tone.

Riley licked his lips, since they were feeling extremely dry. “I..I don't know what you mean?” He moaned, and his eyes fluttered closed when Morgan leaned close and dragged his tongue over Ruley's lips before his tongue inside the hot cavern, taking all that Riley wanted to give. Morgan let out a guttural moan, moving his body against Riley and pressing him into the wall. Their mouths hadn't stopped moving, and Riley felt like he was melting. Morgan licked, sucked, bite, and devoured every part of Riley's mouth. It was as if the man was trying to claim and consume him.

Riley's chest, heart, and his head grew hazy. With all the strength within him, Riley raised his arms and pushed Morgan away, breaking their kiss. He took a large breath, opened his eyes, and stared into Morgan's bright green ones. The man seemed just as dazed and enthralled as Riley was. Their ragged breathing was the only thing that could be heard in the room. Thankfully, Morgan had pulled his pheromones back a bit, but it still permeated the surrounding air, strong and dominating. He did not know what had gotten into Morgan or why the air suddenly felt so charged between them, but he couldn't stay. He couldn't be around Morgan right now. Maybe this was the last time they would meet.

“I...I should go,” he said, finding his voice.

“Are you sure that's what you want to do?” Morgan rasped. “Don't you think it's about time we stop denying things?”

Riley's brows furrowed. “What do you mean?”

Morgan took a deep breath, pinching the bridge of his nose. “I thought you would have figured it out by now, Riley. We're mates.”

Riley gasped as his eyes went so wide his eyebrows practically touched his hairline. “Get the fuck out of here!”
