Chapter four
Since calling William, he'd had a client every night for the past few weeks. For the first time in months, he felt as if he could breathe. Silver had been able to pay off a couple of bills, keep a roof over their heads, fill their cupboards and fridge with food, and get the kids and himself new clothes as well as new cellphones for them to contact him in case of an emergency.
They weren't completely out of the woods yet. Silver figured that he needed to work at Perfect Dates for a bit longer to get them out of the red and live more comfortably. Plus, he planned on going back to school to get his degree. He wasn't sure when it would happen, but it was on his list to complete. Silver unbuttoned his jacket, sat on a barstool, then ordered a drink.
