Happy Pride
Hey everyone, Happy Pride Month!
I hope you all had a great weekend. This weekend was mostly about rest. Hubby and I did some work in the backyard, but not as much as we wanted because it rained for days (again). I feel like every time we make a little progress, the weather says, “Yeah, that’s enough of that,” and then it rains for like 3 days. Progress stops, but I write during those times, so I’m not sure I should complain. But there’s so much we want to get done before I have to leave for Pride Lit Con in Virginia. I realize that even learning how to use certain tools can be so much fun. I kind of have two, maybe three, favorites right now. The sander and the pocket-hole jig. They are so cool and make things so much easier and take up less time. The third is wood filler. I tell you, I made a couple of mistakes when I made the workbench (oh shit I forgot to mention I made a workbench, I have to search for the pictures), so the wood filler helped cover them up. Plus, I used it on the balcony where some of the deck was splitting.
Anyway, I’m rambling off-topic. If you are attending Pride Lit Con, I will be there on the 13th and 14th and will have limited stock. If you have bought a paperback from Amazon or my website store, stop by my table, and I will sign it and chat a bit. 🙂.
In other rambles, Parker’s Demon still has my attention. The characters haven’t stopped talking, and like I’ve been saying, I won’t complain. After the burnout I experienced, I get worried if I go a day without working out a scene in my head and figuring out when and where it will happen in the story. I keep telling myself not to rush the plot, but not to slow it down either. I hadn’t realized how much I wanted to get back into this world. It’s exciting and maddening at the same time. I’m writing from different character points of view, so you don’t just hear from Parker and Aoi, who are still the main focal point, but also from someone like Laxus, who is Aoi’s older brother and Jordan’s uncle. I wrote a scene last week that dug a little deeper into his backstory without detracting from the main plot. I can’t wait for you all to read this book, honestly.
More exciting news. The next season of Rebirth, Love, & Survival is coming... soon. The next chapter will be released later this month, with updates continuing monthly.
That’s all the rambles I have for now. I hope you have a wonderful week.
